Captured this panoramic view of downtown from Coronado island. It's a composition of three shots spanning about forty minutes at sunset.

Embarcadero Marina Park South

This is a composition of images across about 20 different minutes with the sky, water and boats from earlier and building lights from later. The sky didn't fully cooperate and had zero clouds, so I also used a totally separate image of the sky I took a few weeks earlier. (I actually flipped and blurred it to add details to the reflection in the water).

Super Blue Blood Moon

Woke up at 4:45am this morning to catch the "Super Blue Blood Moon". This is a combination of a full moon that's at its closest point to earth (super), the second full moon of the month (blue) and a total lunar eclipse (blood). It's the first time we've had one of these in 152 years! This photo is a composition of seven photos as unfortunately, there aren't six moons. USS Midway Lit Up

After missing a bunch of the epic winter San Diego sunsets (and having my camera set up for a bunch of lame ones) I finally timed it right and caught the USS Midway as the sky exploded at sunset. There are four different exposures from six minutes apart used to make this photo. The ships lights went on a few minutes later, so I used the later over exposed images to bring out detail in the ship you wouldn't mnormally be able to see witht he super bright sky behind.

Pacific Beach Pier in Blue

Camped out on the beach just north of the PB Pier. The sunst was underwhelming but about 20 minutes after sunset we started to get some interesting colors on he horizon, combined with the lights from the pier made for a nice shot.

Belmont Park at Sunset

Three years after taking a shot of the rollercoaster at night, I headed back at sunset to try to capture it in another light. I thought the sunset was going to be a bust but about 10 minutes after sunset, it finally lit up to capture this shot. This is an HDR of two images shot about 20 minutes apart. The sky is from earlier in the night with the foreground of the coaster and lights from later when the lights got brighter.

La Jolla Tide Pools at Sunset

After waiting for a day with a low tide around sunset, I hunted for a spot for about 45 minutes while racing to beat the sun. This is a combination of two shots, one for the sky, one for the foreground manually merged in photoshop.

Coronado Bridge in Blue

With help from Dunn, taken from under Coronado bridge during the blue hour. It was very dark at this time and we were shooting over a 6 foot fence, so our tripod couldn't reach. This shot is a 1 second exposure that is hand held using the fence to steady myself.

Milky Way over Lake Cuyamaca

Heather and I went for a big day trip out to Lake Cuyamaca and stayed late to photograph the stars and try to catch the milky way. We nabbed this shot using my cell phone light to illuminate the near side of the bridge.

Super Moon over San Diego Bay

We caught one of the rare "Super Moons" rising over the San Diego bay. This was a long exposure to bring out the colors... you can see the motion of the American Flag waving on the smaller boat just right of the center of the photo.

Super Moon Eclipse over San Diego

This is a composition of eight photos of the super moon eclipse from 9/27/2015 laid over a photo of downtown San Diego. The moon images are almost completely untouched, save for a few tweaks to the exposure to get the brightness correct.
