Wailua Falls, Kauai, Hawaii
Heather and I hiked 17 miles one direction, then waited in rain and mud for 6 hours until the sky cleared and the sun came through to capture this this shot. Or... maybe this is the shot you can get when you're actually standing on the road that leads here. Either way, it was a jaw dropping place. This photo is panorama of three separate photos. I used my widest focal length (18mm) and shot with my aperture wide open (f/3.5). I slightly underexposed the image to avoid blowing out the sky and clouds, then lightened the canyon and brought out the colors in Lightroom.
